Our Mission

“The Recover Tampa Bay Unmet Needs Committee is committed to ensuring that the citizens of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas Counties all have the means and the opportunity to recover as fully as possible from disasters.”

Recover Tampa Bay Initiative (RTBI) will coordinate with existing entities/organizations providing disaster case management and will focus on building Long term Recovery Capacity (LTRC) in our tri-county areaWe look to serve as a funding table for unmet needs and addressing critical recovery issues that have arisen as a result of Hurricane IrmaThe Unmet Needs Committee will meet as needed to assess cases presented by case managers that have been unsuccessful in obtaining resources elsewhere. Rules for Presentation of Cases

• All documents (certifying document and presentation template with any backup documentation required) must be submitted to: unmetneeds@recovertampabayinitiative.org

• All documents must be submitted by close of business WEDNESDAY before a scheduled Unmet Needs Committee Meeting (generally every other Thursday unless special provisions need to be made)

• Cases must be submitted through a Case Manager Supervisor

• Cases may be presented by any case manager (or their supervisor) and may be required to be presented in person or via webinar or Skype depending on the needs of the committee

• Case Managers should be prepared to answer questions fully on the day of presentation

• Cases may have one of the following outcomes: funded, partially funded, denied, referred back for more information, held pending outcome of other funding

• The decision of the Unmet Needs Committee is FINAL. Any “ties” that may occur on a yes/no vote will be broken by the Executive Director of RTBI

• All cases heard will be sent a written outcome letter and notice of funding where applicable

• The Unmet Needs Committee will continue to meet until all funds are expended or needs have been fully met
